Saeed Ahmad, Ph.D.
Saeed Ahmad, Ph.D., oversees techno-economics cost analysis of existing and new processes of target molecules for Medicines for All. He specializes in efficient, robust and cost-effective process development, scale-up and tech-transfer of new and existing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). He has served in various capacities in the pharmaceutical industry including regulatory and compliance. Previously, he was the director of APIs manufacturing at PolyPeptide Labs and has also worked in the process development group at Boehringer Ingelheim Chemicals for more than 13 years. Dr. Ahmad holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Allahabad, India.
Rudy Krack provides raw material cost estimates and green chemistry metrics for baseline and proposed new processes for Medicines for All target molecules. He is a chemical engineer with a B.S.E. from Princeton University and has over 30 years of industrial experience in a variety of engineering positions with specialty chemical and pharmaceutical companies; including production support, process development, scale-up, technical transfer, capital project management, equipment and facility commissioning, equipment, process and cleaning validation, both for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and dosage forms. He has been at VCU for 12 years, teaching Chemical and Life Science Engineering (CLSE) undergraduate lab courses, managing the CLSE instructional laboratories and assisting with capstone senior design projects, before joining Medicines for All full time in June 2019.
